Sierra Nevada Sierra Nevada is a mountain range situated in Andalucia that extends from the central southeast area of the province of Granada to the southwest of the province of Almeria. In 1986 Unesco declared it a Biospheric Reserve and in 1999 a large part of its territory was declared a National Park owing to its natural beauty, landscape and botanical values. It is the highest mountain range in all of Western Europe after the Alps and the highest point of the Iberian Peninsula with the summit of Mulhacén at 3.482 m.

The Sierra Nevada ski resort is situated in the national park of Sierra Nevada, and it is one of Andalucia’s most special places due to its spectacular high altitude location. Because of these characteristics it is ideal for skiing due to the good climate. In addition, it is only 27 km from Granada and around 100 km from Motril, so you can enjoy the mountain and the sea in the same day.

Close to the ski resort there is a village, Pradollano, that is 2.100 meters above sea level making it the highest village in Spain. There are many hotels and hostels to suit all budgets.

This ski resort boasts an excellent infrastructure for all alpine sports and for those who prefer to be less energetic, there many beautiful trails to walk, ride on a sledge pulled by Huskies, or just enjoy the Snow Park with its many attractions. The summer is also a great time for climbers, joggers and High Altitude training.
